Animal Service Center of the Mesilla Valley is to provide safe shelter for all lost, mistreated, and abandoned animals of the Mesilla Valley and surrounding communities. The ASCMV utilizes all avenues available to it in placing each animal into a safe, loving, and permanent home whenever possible. We strive to meet the highest standards of humane animal care and husbandry, and to promote responsible pet ownership through public education and outreach.
Our Mission is to seek permanent, responsible homes for abandoned cats and dogs while caring for them in a no-kill environment, and to promote humane principles and behavior.
We envision a community in which no domestic animals must be euthanized because they cannot find a compassionate, caring home.
APA’s philosophical approach to animal welfare in our community is modern and progressive. We are part of the No Kill movement as defined and advanced by the No Kill Advocacy Center, which is helping many communities achieve No Kill goals nationwide and worldwide. We strongly support the reform of Animal Control departments and animal shelters to drastically reduce our community’s homeless animal kill rate and improve the lives of animals and people.
Our Mission is to improve the quality of life of our community’s homeless cats and kittens by medically treating them, socializing them, and providing food in a nurturing environment until we are able to find a ‘fur-ever’ home for all adoptable cats.
