Welcome To Our New DACHS Board Member, Jen Garcia!
Please help us welcome new Doña Ana County Humane Society Board Member, Jen Garcia!
Jen was born and raised in Las Cruces, NM. Her roots run deep in the Mesilla Valley with generations of family members both past and present being raised here. She graduated from Mayfield High School and attended college at NMSU. She has been in the banking industry for almost 20 years and is currently employed at WaFd Bank.
Busy is an understatement when it comes to daily life and the tasks that come along with it. Jen has been a part of the Las Cruces Hispanic Chamber for the last 5 years and has been the Amigos Chair for more than half that time.
Jen has two children, Kyleigh (16) and Kasey (11) who keep her busy with their competitive sports schedules, 4-H and FFA activities and life in general. Jen is currently the Booster Club President for her daughter’s soccer team which is both time consuming and rewarding. The small amount of free time she does have is spent either watching her kids play the sports they love or taking care of the “zoo” she has at home with all of her rescue pets. With two dogs, two cats, two rabbits and a fish, they keep her plenty busy.
Since her house is already full of rescues, Jen started looking for other ways to help animals in need, which is why she agreed to join the DACHS Board. Jen looks forward to being able to make a difference in the animal community from the new adventures that will come.
Thank you for your commitment to keeping people and pets together, Jen!
